Dear Diary,
Today I went to the store with Bless, to buy some sugar and flour, my hand clutching Mama’s list tight and with the other I grasped my woolen scarf, for it was terribly windy. The streets have changed so differently now…no longer are they quiet and peaceful. Instead they bring thoughts of fear and dread in my soul, as I walk past each Nazi soldier on every street corner. I try to recite the 1st Psalm in my head, as I walk past them, but my thoughts seem to be snatched away when my eyes meet a young soldier’s cold eyes…filled with hate, and longing. God, save him. I think, as I hurry past. Though they are cruel, and have taken over my homeland, I won’t forget the reason why…their lost, as I once was.
